How Can Apple Farmers Be Encouraged to Apply Information Technology? The Moderating Effect of Knowledge Sharing

Information technology has become an increasingly powerful driving force in modern agriculture. In particular, its application is important for the sustainable development of apple industry. However, to promote effectively, a better understanding behavioral intention farmers towards such information needed. This study uses micro data from 226 Chinese growers and applies theory planned behavior. The factors influencing farmers’ choose technology, along with transformation that into actual behavior, are investigated through structural equation modeling. results show attitudes perceived control have significant positive impact on their response. Additionally, both tacit explicit knowledge sharing moderating effect transforming higher degree sharing, stronger effect. imply achieve industry sustainability, government needs improve guidance incentives agricultural as well support strong knowledge-sharing system specifically technology.
